Context Crystal

Upload a file. Build shared understanding from it.

Context Crystal turns a source file into a reusable Distil context handle. Upload a ZIP, document, text file or video, then ask an AI questions grounded in that source.

How it works

  1. Choose a file: a ZIP, a document (PDF, DOCX, XLSX), a text file (TXT, MD, CSV) or a video.
  2. Distil prepares it on the server and returns a reusable context handle.
  3. Ask your AI a question against the handle, such as addressing a situation, evaluating advice, supporting a proposal or surfacing a risk, with the evidence available for review.

Frequently asked questions

What is Context Crystal?

Context Crystal is a tool from Primary Design Co. You upload a source file, Distil prepares it on the server and returns a reusable context handle, and you ask an AI question against that handle.

What is a context handle?

A context handle is a reusable reference to the material Distil prepared from your file. You can use it to ask follow-up questions against the same prepared source.

What file types can I upload?

ZIP archives; documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX); text and data files (TXT, MD, CSV, JSON, XML, HTML, YAML); source code; and video (MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV, WebM).

Do I need an API key?

Yes. The tool asks you to choose a Distil API key already attached to your PDC Dev Studio account. You can create keys from your developer account.

Build on it

Context Crystal runs on the Distil API. To call it from your own application, read the developer docs, or request enterprise access.
